Celebrating the art of life

Art is more than communicating our ideas through different textures, shapes, and tones. It's a way to interact with each other, to create a dialogue without using words. Communicating ourselves through art is a privilege rather than a talent. Art has the capability of reaching new borders, to travel miles and create a dialogue were our different languages don't hinder us from communicating. Art comes from different cultures making it richer in variety. The different styles of art are created by artists for us to develop our own taste for art. I was searching for different types of existing art and I discovered that art has different characteristics and every day different artists develop their own styles. One artist in particular caught my attention, his name, David Nash. David Nash is a sculptor that creates simple pieces of art that represent a more complicated theme. Nash uses fallen trees and shapes them with delicacy to express his passion for the environment. He's also an expert in manipulating trees to grow in a desired shape. I just love his style and his sculptures are something unusual but fascinating. In his artwork I see a major theme, life. Trees represent life, and Nash uses this tool of mother nature to give life to his sculptures. By using fallen trees and giving them a new form he's defying death and promoting life.

You can check out other sculptures by David Nash at http://www.sculpturexhibitions.com/sculptures.

Hope you enjoy it!

  1. Your writing as well as your analysis of art is lovely. David Nash is definitely an original sculptor. Did you know that he uses axes and chainsaws to do his work?
